[NEWS] Tegoshi Yuya, Club World Cup main caster for another year

Tegoshi Yuya kun from NEWS will host the NihonTV show “FIFA Club World Cup Morocco 2013″, starting from December 11th. Nittere wide shows and a few sports newspapers picked up this news this morning. Tegoshi Yuya (25) from the popular group “NEWS” will work as the main caster of “TOYOTA presents FIFA World Cup Morocco 2013″ for the second year in a row. Tegoshi, who is known as a huge soccer fan in the Japanese showbiz, being friends with Kagawa Shinji (24) and Nagatomo Yuto (27) in his private life, will be in Morocco during the competition. “I want to feel and tell the excitement of the world-class speed from Ribéry and Robben (both playing in Bayern).”, he said as he expressed his aspirations. Last year, his enthusiasm for soccer grew as he had the first experience of being a caster. He showed his will: “I started to feel responsibility for every comment I make. I want to be the caster for next year’s World Cup Brazil too”.

The Club World Cup is a competition in which each Champion from 6 continents will battle for the Top soccer club of the world. This year, it will be held in Morocco.

Tegoshi, who has taken office as the main caster for the second consecutive year, told his eagerness “I want to try hard to tell evreryone, including those who like soccer, or don’t really know the rules, or know very well about it, everyone, that ‘Club World Cup is a great competition’.”

Also, in today’s edition of Nittere TV show “PON!”, the staff asked Tegoshi to PR the competition doing a quick trick. Tegoshi replied “I’m a Johnny’s you know. I think my job is to make women go all “kyaah”… You want me to do this?”, but still did his PR, by singing “Club World Cup~♪ Make sure you watch it~♪” doing Nakajima Mika’s impression.

Last year, Tegoshi was also told to do this quick trick PR on “PON!” when he was announced to be the main caster of CWC, and did Kinki Kids’ Domoto Tsuyoshi impression. Promoting the competition with an impression two years in a row, he concluded “I also thought this last year, but is a Monomane (impression) PR really going to affect the audience? I’m not so sure (laugh)”, showing his big smile.
